A weekly yin yoga practice group that helps us experiment with slowing down.Â
Â
Is this you?
Â
You’re in the process of trying to feel more at home in your body and you know that yin yoga helps you get there.
Â
You’re learning that it’s ok to slow down but your busy mind sometimes tries to convince you otherwise.Â
Â
You're not alone!
Â
It’s so easy to put our self-care on the back burner. If we don't schedule time for ourselves, then someone else will happily take it.
Â
Or, we could have plenty of alone time but we're scared everything will fall apart if we slow down.
Â
There's power in practicing at the same time as others.
 Â
Even though yin yoga and somatic meditation are deeply personal and quiet practices, we don't have to do them alone!
Â
You can be part of a global community.
Â
Â
There's also something tremendously healing about practicing yin yoga at home.
Â
When you step away from your computer, your laundry, your kitchen or your kids and settle into a special spot in your home just for YOU... the whole energy of your home shifts.
Â
The people pleaser in you takes a back seat. The overachiever in you gets to rest. The small child inside you who is so afraid to feel their feelings gets to nuzzle up to the older, wiser version of you who knows how to hold space for difficult emotions.Â
Â
If there's one thing I've learned in the past 20 years as a yoga teacher it's how BIG of a difference it makes to practice yin yoga regularly at home.
Â
-
You actually get excited to go back to your family or your job when you’re done.
Â
-
Your children or spouse or roommate or pet survive... and might even come to value your presence more.
Â
-
Your work and your chores don’t suffer. You’ll get back to them when you’re done your practice... and feel so much more productive when you do.
Â
-
If you’re a yoga teacher, your classes will feel more inspired and creative.
   -
If you're an artist or a writer, you'll tap back into the unknown, magical and mysterious place where your best ideas come from.
Â
-
Your relationship with yourself goes from feeling awful to awe-inspiring. Who knew you could love and cherish your body this much?
Â
-
You experience less pain. Your body feels more supple and you move through your day with greater ease and flexibility.
Â
What would it take for you to have a more regular yin yoga practice at home?
Â
For most of us it comes down to 3 things...
-
Compassion for ourselves
-
A routine that works in our schedule
-
Practicing with a teacher we love
Â
Beating yourself up or trying to just "be more disciplined" doesn't work. You've tried that.
Â
You've tried to slow down at home and feel your feelings on your own, but it's hard. Most of us get bored, space out, distract ourselves or simply get so flooded with anxiety and fear that we can't keep going. This is normal and nothing to be ashamed about.

"Speaking as someone who has been very yang forward in terms of yoga and movement, connecting with Sally has opened my eyes to the beauties and benefits of yin yoga. Not only has she illuminated how and why yin yoga supports our bodies, but also strengthens and nurtures our minds and spirits."

"Sally’s online yin yoga membership is a great investment. Once a week, I get Sally’s expert guidance – live, no less - while I practice in the comfort of my home. Not only that, but I also have access to her video library, letting me schedule yin yoga when it’s convenient for me. Despite my busy schedule, I finally have a consistent home practice!"
"With each pose that we practice Sally seamlessly explains multiple ways to achieve it in ways that someone who is less flexible or has a physical barrier can still get the same stretch or feeling. She even makes the meditative part of the practice accessible. She'll remind you that even if you can get one moment of focus it's still super healing."

"It's such a relief and a RELEASE when I get done my practice. It's a beautiful feeling - like a constant wave of melting and letting go."

"Sally's gentle cueing invites me into a state of deeper sensing and untangling of my inner terrain."Â

"I've learned how to ask myself the right questions to get the answers I'm searching for inside myself."

"Through her gentle guidance, Sally creates a non-judgmental space where I feel safe to look at what's happening in my body and remain connected to myself and my breath."

"Every class with Sally brings me back to the heart of life's richest possible aims: self-acceptance, creativity and persistence in one's work, and love."
