FAQ’s

  1. What are your classes like?

We start with a 5 - 10 minute guided meditation, followed by about 40 minutes of somatic yin yoga, and conclude with 10 minutes of Shavasana.

This class is open to all levels, and most people describe it as an amazing REST. We attend to the body, mind, and emotions, with a different topic each week. Sometimes the focus is more physical, other times more energetic.

  2. How much are classes?

The livestreaming classes are $20 to drop-in.

The on demand classes are $16 each

Or, you can buy a monthly unlimited pass for $49/month and get access to ALL the live streaming classes and on demand classes.

  3. What does the monthly unlimited pass include?

It includes access to the live streaming Wednesday night somatic yin yoga class that I teach every week from 7-8pm on ZOOM, as well as access to the on-demand library of pre-recorded classes, so that you can practice anytime. There are currently over 100 yin yoga classes in the on demand library that you get access to as soon as you sign up.

  4. When are live classes?

The live classes are every Wednesday night from 7-8pm Eastern Time on ZOOM.

  5. What should I do if I have more questions (not listed here)?

Just email me. sally@sallymilleryoga.com. No big deal. I love questions.

  6. What should I do if I have a question during class?

Unfortunately we have to mute everyone other than me while the class is going on. Otherwise the background sound of people’s dogs or doors opening, or belching might get too distracting :) So if you have a question during class, please just write it down, and you can ask me after class. When class is over at 8pm, I always stick around on ZOOM for a few minutes to see if anyone has questions at that time. You can always email me about your questions after class instead. sally@sallymilleryoga.com

  7. How long am I committed for?

When you sign up to join the community, you’re making a 1 month commitment. You can cancel anytime after that.

  8. What props will I need?

Here’s a full list of all the props we might use. Please don’t worry if you don’t have all of this stuff just yet. You can always build your prop library slowly over time, and improvise with other stuff you have at home in the meantime.

    2 yoga blocks

    2 blankets

    2 tennis balls

1 long sock to tie the tennis balls in to make a peanut

    A yoga strap

A foam roller (any size, length or texture will do. An 18inch x 6 inch smooth one without any ridges or bumps is the least expensive and also most beginner friendly! Here’s an example.)

    A bolster

  9. How long is the class?

The Wednesday night classes are 1 hour. And all the classes in the on demand library are also 1 hour.

  10. What platform do you use?

    We use ZOOM.

  11. Do I have to keep my camera on?

Nope. Not at all. Feel free to keep your camera off.

  12. Is it beginner friendly?

Totally. However, I’m a pretty deep person (think super intense type A scorpio who has now been meditating and doing yoga for over 20 years. oy). … so I can’t help but introduce deep things about yoga, and life, and happiness that I feel like are really important to share. But you will never be shamed for not being able to put your body into certain shapes (heck, I can’t put my body into most of the typical “yoga shapes” that are on the cover of yoga magazines). And you will never be pushed or forced to do anything you’re not ready to do. My classes are really really gentle and accessible, and when I think something might be too intense - I will just say it as I’m describing it - and then remind you that everything is optional and you can take breaks anytime.

  13. What if I have to come late to class?

No problem at all. Your sound is automatically muted upon entering the ZOOM meeting, so you can easily slide into class like a quiet ninja and it won’t disturb anyone’s practice.

Way better to come late than to not come at all! Please don’t worry about being late.

  14. What if I have to leave early?

Also, no big deal. Feel free to leave early anytime. If you only have 30 minutes, you can plan to just stay for the first half of class. I trust you to listen to your body and be done with class when it feels right for you. There’s no keeping track of class attendance, and no pressure to stay until the end. I want my classes to feel like a refuge and a sanctuary for you. No punishment. No pressure. None of that outdated stuff that just doesn’t work.

  15. What if I have an injury or haven’t done yoga in a long time?

You’re not alone. Most of my students, and I, are nursing injuries most of the time. The beautiful thing about yin yoga is that it can be modified and customized in seemingly infinite ways, and many of the postures are really really helpful for healing old injuries. Please don’t let an injury keep you from coming to class, unless you really need to just rest and let something heal for a while. If you’re not sure, you can always email me and I’ll try to give you some more specific guidance.

  16. Are the classes recorded?

    Yes!

  17. How do I access the recordings?

Once you become a member of the community, you’ll have a unique login ID and password where you can access the recordings in the on demand library for free.

  18. Do the recordings expire?

    Nope!

  19. Do you offer a free trial class?

Yes! You can sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page and get your first live streaming class for free.

  20. Can I just pay for one class instead of signing up for a whole month?

Yes! You can purchase one live streaming Wednesday night class for $20. Here’s the link to do a drop-in.

  21. Do I have to wait for the first of the month to join, or can I join anytime?

Nope, you can join anytime! Your membership will then be renewed on that day every month.
