First, you’ll be guided through a 10-minute opening somatic meditation that you can do either sitting up or on your back. Somatic just means that we pay attention to the body in a loving, gentle way without being rigid or uptight about what our meditation posture "should" look like.
Then we’ll practice 4 to 5 yin yoga postures with plenty of variations given to make sure each posture is accessible and appropriate for YOUR BODY. If you're not familiar with yin yoga, don't sweat it.
The teacher, Sally, is really great at showing beginners the ropes. You won't be the only newbie there and everyone is super nice and welcoming (plus you can keep your camera off if you feel shy or just want to be anonymous).
We conclude with 10-minutes of Shavasana, the Yogi’s Corpse Pose, as a way of deeply resting the body & mind before re-entering the day. That part always feels SO good.
Who knew you could go to church to take a nap?!?! (yes - you sure can👍🏽)
